The Qur'an has some very strong language with respect to alcohol:

"O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper." (Surah 5:90, Yusuf Ali)

Yet, we see that the Qur'an then teaches that "Satan's handiwork" will appear in the Paradise which Allah is said to prepare for faithful Muslims,

"(Here is) a Parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised: in it are rivers of water incorruptible; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine, a joy to those who drink; and rivers of honey pure and clear. In it there are for them all kinds of fruits; and Grace from their Lord. (Can those in such Bliss) be compared to such as shall dwell for ever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels (to pieces)?" (Surah 47:15, Yusuf Ali)

The theory being that "Heaven" is a reward for what you did on earth, so having lived a life of denial on earth you are rewarded with "pleasures" in heaven

The qur'an preaches that one must earn their place in heaven. By denying such things on earth, they 'earn' rewards in heaven. It makes sense if you're not trying to take it out of context.

I think the reason why Allah does not allow alcohol to muslims is because they live in a hot country and to drink alcohol would be insensible as it would dehydrate them and there isn't much water in the desert anyway.

Heaven is completely different and alcohol in it is not bad as alcohol we have and this is the truth of Islam, when it forbid some thing it is for its bad effects but it compensate with something good.

Because once in heaven, not a single person will experience pain, sadness, illness, depression, or anger, all of which are caused by alcohol in this life.

Allah ( NOT the arabic word for God, allah means allah, or il-ilah, the original pagan moon god of pre-islamic cults) is not in heaven, allah resides in hell with muhammed, burning forever in the pit.
