If there is any truth at all in religious claims about God and Biblical truth then we should be free to mock and question all of it as much and as often as we can, God is not mocked by a mere mortal and who knows ...through all the questioning and mockery some real solid undeniable truth may emerge, it ought to anyway clear away some of the fug and untruths and that can't be a bad thing can it?

Hillbillies, personally I think unbiassed science is the best tool we have for establishing truth, I think religion & faith are overdue a full scientific probing and investigation, religion & faith are too big to be left unexplored and untested.

Kiri te, you give a great example of the bullsh*t before the "but" argument in your second paragraph. In this case the "but" is also followed by bullsh*t ...just of a different kind.

Firstly, get your facts strait, I can tell that your not a Christian, or you would be able to quote the whole verse of the Bible, secondly, why did you ask a bull*shyt question, if you didn't want bull*shyt answers?
Find some other way to amuse yourself.

No amount of patient reasoning will convince some people to change anything they do or say or think. But being mocked may bring about a change, if only to make them shut up for a minute. And let's face it, nobody really wants to have to change. That's why the godidiots don't like to be mocked.
But don't stop, they need it now more than ever!

I mock imaginary beings all the time. I don't know how anyone could say that god is not mocked. 'God is a big, smelly, poop-head!' See, I just totally mocked god. Yesterday I called Santa a 'fat, red, deer-herder!' The reason it is so amusing to mock god is that his believers seem to demand lots of respect for themselves but have no respect at all for anyone else or their beliefs. As to whether we should examine religious claims scientifically, I think we should. The reason many religious people call this 'mocking' is that most religious claims don't stand up to reality-based examination. Calling it disrespectful makes that examination seem morally tainted.

I think we should ask questions about religion and the scriptures and it is OK to debate it, disagree, and try to educate some people that have no idea about other beliefs, science, or even the history of Christianity, the scriptures, the bible, other gods or whatever.
But the people (not saying it is you), that mock Christians on this forum by asking completely out of line questions about god having sex, and sick-o types of Jesus questions should be struck down and sent to hell, (if there really is one, I'm not a christian), show some respect.

Please re-define your question.
"God is not mocked concerning His promises," for whatsoever ye sow, that shall ye also reap.
He that soweth to the flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption, and he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting.
You are absolutely free to do anything you want, but know that you will have to give an account for all actions good/bad on the day of judgment.
God LOVES everyone, even you.
It very obvious that you don't believe in the God that I serve, so here goes, do you believe that Satan, the Devil exists, if so do you serve him?

No, you bring up some good points. God doesn't need humans to defend God. Some people have such funny ideas about God, I think they really are afraid to express doubt or question, but God isn't threatened by that. As you say, it may even help. We should not be afraid to raise honest questions, God is big enough.

I don't' know about "mocking" God, but we should feel free to ask questions and to learn things. without the thought that we will be mocked because we don't' already know the answers. We are only human and know where near perfect at that.

Because if we were allowed to challenge religion and question it looking for an undeniable truth, it would be science.

I agree with you. Another reason god can't be mocked is because it doesn't exist!
