As most of you here know I do my best to get young men to join the military to make the war supporters happy. ( Bush happy too ) So everytime I see a "I Support The Troops" Magnet on a car I walk up and say "Thanks for Supporting the troops" then I ask them to send their healthy 6 foot soon to Iraq to fight for Bush. I always get this angry look as if I just ask to borrow a million dollars. Why won't the people who support the war send their sons to fight? I always get answers like " My son is in College, My son has a job, Etc..etc.. The best one from a war supporter is "I support the war as long as my son doesn't have to go ". LOL!!! Once again as they walked away I took the Magnet off the car. After all, they really don't support the war so I now have the magnet so they won't drive around lying to everyone. I tell ya....It was a good day today!!

The only thing the magnets were good for was that walmart was $4.95 richer.

No they don't support the troops. They don't go to Memorial day parades. They'd rather get drunk at a BBQ. And No they won't send their kids!!

Hypocrites, all of them! I think the stickers should be removed! The only way you should be able to get one is by being a vet, being a family member of a vet, visiting a military cemetery, attending a military parade or visiting a VA or Old Soldiers home!

The rest? Take Them OFF!! You haven't earned the right to put one on because all it is to you is lip service, or does it make you feel better about yourself when the bodybags are sent home?

War is like any other government program. People love to talk about it in theory. Just do not bother them with the details.

It is not their head being shot off; it is the head of some kid from South Central Los Angeles whose name they will never know. It is not their dead body being dragged through the streets of some Third World stink hole they had never heard of when they enlisted; it is the dead body of some coal miner’s son from West Virginia whose name they will never know.

Where were these "support the troops" people when Bush and the Republicans in Congress were voting to cut "Imminent danger" pay from $225 per month to $150 per month and family separation allowance–which goes to help military families pay rent, child care or other expenses while soldiers are away–from $250 to $150 a month. Where were they when the government was voting to increase their medical co-pays last year? How many got their "yellow ribbons" from the VFW, where the money will actually support our troops, and how many got theirs at WalMart?

I wouldn't go as far as taking the magnets, though, because that's theft. Just be content in the fact that you've exposed another lying hypocrite.

You can support something without becomming involved in it personally.

I'm not saying they some of them arn't hypocrits which some of them clearly are however it's their choice weather or not they go fight in the war. there is no draft for the army.

I'm against cruelty to animals and fur ect, now I don't wear a fur coat or anything but at this point in tme I'm not a vegitarian either.
does it make me a bad person no, and will it stop me from supporting groups like the spca, no.
Why would you not allow them to advocate for something you believe so strongly in because the beleve in it less then you but still believe?? and what if it's their son/daughters CHOICE not to join up not the parents at all.
I know I do as I feel not as mommy or daddy says.

believe it or not they are still supporting the same thing you are so by stealing their magnet your not helping your cause.
there are ways to support a war without actually being in it.

Damn, get a life mister. From what I see, all you do is sit around and leak biiterness all over this site. If you had it so bad 30 years ago, you should either be over it or getting some psych help. For the record, I have 2 sons in the military, one (USMC) here stateside recovering from shrapnel wounds from an IED, another (Army) in Germany. Both boys are brave and honorable men, whose old man is VERY proud of them. I served (USMC), and now they are. I never encouraged them to join the military, they did it because they saw the value inherent in service. Now they are giving a portion of their lives so an undeserving a**hole such as yourself can abuse the right of free speech. Anyone who wants to know whats REALLY going on in Iraq, needs to go to one of these hospitals and talk to the men and women who were there. You sure won't get the straight dope from a rag like Time.

The sticker means that their hearts are with the troops, not that they support the war. Is that so hard to understand. And, by the way, the military is not for everyone. Just because someone is young and strong, doesn't mean that he needs to be a soldier. There are other importnat jobs that have to be done inside the USA.

What gives you the right to go around confronting people in car parks?

If you want to preach to people become either a politician or a priest.

Seriously you need to be careful because with all the weirdos wandering the streets these days confronting someone in a car park may just get you hurt.

Maybe you shouldn't be so hard on everyone. It's fine to have your opinion, but let others have theirs. That's what America is about, right? Freedom!!
Do you even have sons. If you do, I'm sure you'd feel just as reluctant to let them over to some foreign country to possibly be killed.
That's great to support the war, but don't condemn others for caring about their sons and wanting them to stay safe.
