I dont attend Church. All the churches I have attended are full of hypocrites, and pastors that choose to preach about what you should not do, and make examples out of people who openly sin, and ignore their own sins, prefering to preach their own perfection.

God ordained church for growth and fellowship, yet it is impossible to find those things in modern church. Instead, I fellowship and grow through Bible study, friends with like views, discussion, and prayer. Does this mean my faith is in question because church offers so little to a Christian nowadays, that I have looked elsewhere for God original intention of church?

I WOULD attend if I found a church that welcomed all people, and taught the Bible and ALL its teachings, and not just what suited the purpose for church growth.

JESUS WENT INTO THE CHURCHES IN ANCIENT TIMES TO CALL PEOPLE OUT OF THE CHURCH. "BUILDINGS YOU REFER TO AS CHURCH" TO WORSHIP IN TRUTH. CHURCH IS WHERE 2 OR MORE ARE GATHERED IN HIS NAME. NOT IN A BUILDING MADE OF STONES.THE SAME IS TRUE TODAY AS THEN , IT HASNT CHANGED, IF HE WERE HERE NOW HE,D WALK IN TELL THE MINISTERS THEY HAVE PROBLEMS AND CALL THE PEOPLE OUT TO FOLLOW HIM.

You must of gone to some different churches, I attend a southern Baptist, its a small congregation, they are not money hungry and don't tell you what to do, or not. Being a christian should already be knowing wrong from right, what is a sin and what is christian like. A church should provide fellowship, that is why we go to church, if someone is criticizing you, that is a judgements, and God is the only judge, I feel that if someone is doing this you should confront them with your beliefs,or opinions.
I'm glad that you are not letting it keep you from searching, but keep looking I'm sure you will find something. I picked a church out of the religion section and the first one I went to was not aggreeable with my beliefs so I kept searching and found one.

You know what is the problem with us Christians? We always wanted to praise God but on the hindsite we want to continue our worldy desires while doing it. Please don't think that I am some kind of a self righteous fool because I am just being honest.

When people preach righteousness, it is actually the righteousness that God would want to prevail that is being prreached and not theirs. Only sometimes delivery can be so expressive and authoritative that the teaching would seem to be too coercive and unpleasant and way too irritating and I am not new to it because I've been around you know.

Such social dilemma has been such a pain in the butt however we have to admit that it really exist and is not going away for quite a long time so in my thoughts, I might as well get use to it.

The only question I would like to ask is why are you easily affected by such sermons or preachings? Have you ever ask yourself why? Is the defect really in them or is it probably with you? Or has it something to do with the way you understand that you tend to take such as personal in nature? If it has negative effect on you, have you ever considered the possiblity that it might have had a positive effect on others. Why? Did the preachers mentioned your name or was he just trying to give emphasis on a certain sin that actually concerns you? Or finally was it guilt that troubles you?

Whatever the answers to these questions, it is only you and God who would really know.

Hello, I had attended this church for many years until I just decided to visit other churches, because I felt I wasn't learning anything new and felt there was no real unity among the college students. So I went to a new church last week and I really enjoyed it, I really felt I learned new things because it was from a new perspective, I think I will continue visiting other churches. I think that every church is different, they all have their purpose. Perhaps if you visit new churches and talk to the pastor about what their purpose is you will find a church where you feel you belong. Take care!

.1. why are you in church? to hear about "others" sins? or hearing TRUTH?
2. The Preachers sins, are of no concern of yours. The sin is against GOD, not you.
3. You have ZERO idea what "his" preaching perfection is.
4. GOD Ordained ONE CHURCH. Jesus Christ.
5.Inpossible to find? It may be for you. With your attitude.
6. You designed your own study group? This could be interesting. Where do you Tithe? Tithing is a Basic spiritual principal.
7. church offers little to christians these days? If YOU were a part of that church. yes. very little. read what you just wrote.
8. Church is to Spiritual grow. That you have not done. I wander why? YOU...YOU....YOU...are part of the church fellowship. how many people did YOU intice with love and make them feel loved? How many people followed you out the doors and quit, because they trusted your judgement?
9. You have church growth confused with Spiritual growth.
10. YOU...YOU...YOU....go to chruch for YOU. got it? NOBODY, inside any building should have any relection on your faith what-so-ever. other than to build it up. IF..you have your eyes ON people for comfort....YOUR EYES ARE SIMPLY NOT FOCUSED ON WHAT JESUS SAID HIMSELF: "KEEP YOUR EYES ON ME".

WE SEE WHERE YOUR EYES ARE..WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN. OK?

You need to realize everyone at one point or another ask these same question and go through the same doubts however they find peace of mind when they surrender to God and let him give the answer.

I don't go to church but know from God and have faith in God. I don't judge the church simply cause they are human just like me bleed the same blood regardless of what he is preaching. Remember we are all born with sin!

Even though you might not like what the preacher/pastor etc... what he saying cause you find it hypocritical you are doing exactly what you wouldn't like someone doing to you your judging. Who are you to judge ? Who am I to judge ? You take the message for what it is and that's that for all you know God might have intended for those words to be heard by someone else sitting in the congregation.

When you go to church pretend that you are a racing horse (as wired as it sounds)racing horse wear those flaps on the sides of there eyes allowing them only to see straight. If you analyze every little detail your gonna find things wrong or controversial.

keep it gods hands........

Dont pay attention to the hyprocrittes (cant spell) you come to church to learn the word and to update on the word not to see whos wrong and whos right but if you really want to make sure you go to a good church I would say look at the preacher does he have a bible in his hand if not I dont really recommend you stay, because then hes just taking whatever comes to mind instead of taking the word (the bible) for it. I go to a christian church (Church of Christ) where the preacher talks about whats in the bible. He says a point and looks up a scripture to back it up and he tells the scripture so you can look at it to. In my church we take notes so we can look over them when we get home and really take it in. well thats all I got hope it helped.

You do not specifically have to attend church. As long as you are having fellowship then that is good. Because it is very hard to study the bible by yourself sometimes and we christians need to have other christians. You can find other christians to fellowship with outside church.

You need to look deeper not all church's are like that!
Because people are in the church the church will never be perfect.
The church needs you as much as you need the church
The problem will be If you find a perfect church you could not join it because you would then ruin it with your imperfections.
