has anyone used or know's of the registry mechanic is it good and useful for cleaning up the computer

Don't use Registry Mechanic unless you know what you are doing. Windows creates some duplicate files because it needs to but RM will delete them all.
Use Ccleaner instead; its a lot harder to mess up your pc with it as it lets you back up before it deletes. I use it and I'm a beginner.

yes registry mechanic is good tool to repair when you do some mistakes in Registry settings... best registry mechanic is here -

I USE A REGISTRY CLEANER FROM DOWNLOAD.COM CALLED TWEAK NOW, THATS EASY TO USE AND WORKS GREAT, JUST BE CAREFUL ONLY TO DELETE THE LABELED SAFE TO DELETE ITEMS, ITS FREE AND CLEARS UP THE CLUTTER IN YOUR COMPUTER.

yeh, ya gotta be careful, I was trying to delete some of the extraneous stuff, I let microsoft unload and I screwed up windows.i
