It has nothing to do with the harness. Sounds like he needs more motivation. He won't go if he doesn't think it's fun. Take him to the park, change your walking route, etc. to keep things interesting. Also, try taking treats with you. Give him one every so often so he associates walking as a fun thing.

Dragging you pup along is probably the worst thing you could do.
If he doesn't want to go out there must be a good reason but how you expect total strangers to come up with it is a bit unreasonable.
Think back to the first time you took him out. Was he nervous? A little bit worried by something? Was there something specific that scared him?
How did you react? Did you show him that you weren't scared? Did you distract him; play with him; give him a treat when he was a little braver?
Try to be a bit more positive and encouraging. Change the walk or see if you can get a lift to a couple of streets away and walk back with him.
He is a puppy - he was probably scared and being dragged along and nagged will be doing him no good at all. No wonder he would rather stay home.

I have had staffs for years and i know not to use a harness at such a young age because it restricts movement.Try a collar and lead and walk him up and down the living room.then try the back garden or yard and once he is used to this take him for short walks down the street. Before you know it he will be taking you for a walk !!!!
Good Luck !!

I trained a lot of dogs and your pup is nothing unusual.
put his color on for a few days and let him walk around with it, after a couple of days put the leash on and walk with him around the house and in the garden (don't drag him and don't force him), let him walk on his own while you hold on the leash. The more he walks around, praise him for it,give him a treat or something. Try this for a day or two then start taking him outside, but like I said, don't force him, you have to let him know that its okay for him to leave the house.

I had the same problem with my staff when she was a pup, she hates anything restricting her front legs from moving , i tried her with a material collar and lead instead and she was fine, althougth now she's 1year old and runs away when she's sees her harness, so best to stick with the collar. Hope it helps

Take him away from home, and he will walk better. You can also keep the lead on him at home when you are there to watch him, and he will get used to the 'drag' and feel of it. Pick it up now and then to gently pull him to you, and give praise when he comes, willingly or not.
This is also very good for teaching him to come when called.

Don't use a harness. Once he does get used to walking with it, he will start to drag you along.
Try a Gentle Leader, you can get them at a pet store.

you have to bare with him. my puppy would not walk on a leash at first either. we got a pinch collar for him. it may look in humane, but it doesnot hurt them, and is a great trainer. keep trying.

Take him to the vet. He could be in pain from something, or sick.
