My best friends daughter goes back and forth between her mom ( my best friend) and her dad. Faith (moms daughter)has a littel sister that says with the mom during the week and goes to the fathers house on the weekend.For Faith its the other way around.I feel bad for the two siblongs cause they hardley get to see each other.But the thing is that the father pays $250 for child support and the mother pays nothing. They don't want to go to court though.so Should they both pay child support?Please help me on this the children are failing because there misrable.

Which parent has custody? These visitation rights sound horrible. Also $250 for child support for 2 kids is a drop in the bucket. What's up with that? I hope this isn't something the court set up and if it is they need to go back to court and get it straightened out. Are they just selfish? Surely they (the parents) see what they're doing to these kids?

marriage is what you can afford .some men have two and three wifes with several women and marriages the poor and the rich divorce more often then middle class who have the most at stake financialy that 350,000 dollar house and shopping in the new mall is a sign of succeess for some and they do not want to lose that so they stay married .poor people struggle and fight among them-selves divorcing regularly and swaping around the rich tend to have agreements divirced emotionaly but still living togheter It is the group in-between upper middle that split and still remain basicaly in the same class .the children always suffer no matter and we should have state homes that all kids go to and the parents can visit they both pay the state cause i have never seen where mom and dad do not bash eachother in some way when they thought they were safe to say what they felt. In front of the kids he or she is worthless or a no good cheater or many other thing he she never treated me right was abusive and never take that from any man/ woman when you grow up .So people who cant keep it togheter loose the kids all togheter.
Lets see if we do not learn to work it out instead of see who wins the fight i got the kids 220 days a year and you only get them 145 i am the better person even the judge thinks so . this way of fighting is rediculous and the kids loose always with idiots like this for parents .Take the kids away from these two morrons and have them pay the state .

It should cancel each other out. However, our system is designed to always screw the guy in this situation. He should be thankful that he only has to pay $250 a month for two kids.
If he goes to court, he could end up with the situation being that he only gets the kids a little bit of time. If the mother is competent, this might actually be best for the kids. Then he is opening himself up to being charged more for child support. Quite a quandry, I wish you luck. Your best option would be to consult an attorney.

If they spend equal time, I don't think either of them should pay child support. If the child spends equal time, the expenses should be equal.
