Jews do that... in the Old Testament it says "Thou shalt not take the "LORD GOD'S" Name in vain. Jews have a very strict "law" that prohibits from using the name of god (which, btw, is NOT lord god, nor is it GOD). But out of respect they decline from using GOD altogether and instead use G_D or something similar.

Jews tend to not spell put God or Lord because the Name of God was not spelled out in old Hebrew text so the Name couldnt be blasphemed. However, they DID spell "God" and "Lord" so I really dont know what the difference is. God and Lord are not names, they are titles... if they dont want to spell out YHVH then fine, but the writers of the Torah didnt leave letters out of the titles.

I really don't know. It sounds/looks stupid to me. Of course, I think it is a sin to use God's name in vain, which means you say it without referring to Him. So, if I say or write or type His name, I always start it with a capitol letter to show Him respect and to show that I really am talking about Him, a.k.a. the Creator of all mankind, and not using it as another word to take up room in my sentences!

If some write it that way, so be it. I write God capitalized. I am a Christian and I believe it shows my respect and belief. I also refer to Him or He or Lamb of God or Savior, etc. I love my Lord God Almighty and praise His name.

I know that in the Jewish religion they usually write G-d, instead of God. I believe that is because not doing so would be taking God's name in vain.

I don't.
If I'm going to say god, i put god (notice the 'g' isn't capitalized...) in hopes of offending some people lol.

I will write God or god however I wish.
If others have a problem with it- deal with it - there are much more worse things than the spelling of God or god.
