The normal life expectancy of the domestic cat is seventeen years, and twenty is no longer rare.

The chances of a cat who spends most or all of his time outside living out his normal life expectancy is probably close to zero.

The life expectancy of a feral cat is about three years, and a domesticated cat living outdoors is probably less well equipped to survive the hazards of outdoor life than a feral.
