Make sure your child is ready. He (or she) has the verbal skills to let you know when they have to go, the motor skills to pull down and up SIMPLE clothes, and the ability to stay dry for a few hours. 1st thing in the AM is the best time to be successful.... we all have to go when we first get up. Also, don't ask if they have to use the potty.... they will ALWAYS say "no" Not because they don't have to go, but because playing with Thomas or whatever the toy of the hour is, is MUCH more interesting that going potty. My advice...set the stove timer for 30 min. Go ahead and try EVERY time (pause the video or keep whatever they were playing up from other children). If they don't seem to care about accidents, then it's not time. ABOVE ALL DO NOT PUNISH!!!! Most instances of child abuse stems from potty accidents.

I have 1 boy and 2 girls.. my son was very to potty train, the cheerios did not work. I bought him spiderman underwear and i just kept asking him if he had to go and just put him on the potty about every hour. after a while he started to tell me that he had to go. yeah, you will have some wet moments , but that is ok...i started potty training him when he was 21/2. that was when he showed interest...i did the same with my daughter good luck... it took 6 months...

I started potty training my little girl when I noticed her pulling on her pamper, walking on her own, and when she took an interest in following me to the bathroom and what I was doing in there. I started putting her on the potty when she would wake up in the morning, after her nap, before her bath, and once during the night. I would encourage her by making up a pot-pot song while she did her thing. Now when she needs to go she says pot-pot and walks to the bathroom. She will be 15 months this month and I have been doing this since she was 11 months. Just know that patience and consistency plays a huge part in success.

well I had a hard time potty training my daughter. her pediatrician said not to let her wear pull ups or underwear in the house so that if she had to go she would have to use the potty. i was scared that she would just go on the floor, that only happened one time and after that she always used the potty. so I had to scrub the floor one time but it solved the problem. I only had to do this for about a week.

I have a little girl who is 3 and I can't get her to use the potty for nothing. So I need some advice too. Some tell me to just sit her on it until she goes and repeat several times a day. But being a working mother it's hard to stay up on it.

Be very patient and thats the key....your children will tell you when they are ready!! They will give you clues, and don push it because when you push potty training it makes it worse!! Babies R Us has these flushable foam pieces that you can put in the potty for your son to play a game with. Shot them and make them sink!! Or you can use cheerios as well..... :) Goodluck!!

If it's a boy, throw a few cheerios into the toilet and have him "target Practice" I know it sounds a bit strange, but by making a game out of it, it makes it much more fun as well as he will WANT to do it more and more which is the general idea...right? If it's a girl, then place her favorite dolly onto the toilet and secretly hold a little cup of water behind her. Tell your daughter, "Look! Your dolly (insert name) is going pee pee like a BIG girl! Then as shje watches, pour out the cup so it looks as if her dolly really is peeing! It worked for mine in no time at all. Hope I've helped!

The only thing that helped my little girl was putting big girl panties on her, and bringing one of my friends daughters over for a day that was already trained. Try putting panties on your child, no pull ups or anything like that because they know that if they have a diaper or pull up on they can go but for some reason she will not go in the big girl panties. good luck with it were on our 2nd month of training
