I have played most field games and at competitive levels in college. I got to play golf only in my early thirty's and this is one of the only regretts I will have in an otherwise fulfilling life.
The game had taught me many lessons on the course including man management ( Caddies ) that I have adopted to my daily life. Metal resolve and steely nerves in dire situations are the first traits to be lost and Golf has taught me over the years how to hold on to them.
I do agree that prior to my golfing days it appeared to be an old mans past time, how wrong I was.
One has to have skills and physical fitness to get to a decent level of play ( single digit handicap). The only friends who hate the game are ones who are no good at it. They are either too stiff or do not have the patience to learn the skills needed to hit a stationery ball.
It instills a great confidence in ones outlook to life and I hope my family also benifit from the game as I have done.
A definite winner all the way. borring?? how is it spelt?
No wonder It is the highest paying sport which can be played by one and all

No it's not boring. Play it some time. Some people put things down because they can't do it. Tiger Woods is one of the best condition athletes in the world. Not everyone likes every sport. A person who likes a sport with a lot of contact may not like golf. Most of the people who say the don't like golf have never played.

Golf is a sport because it requires a person to have some sort of athleticism and the person must be mentally strong. Golf is very boring to watch but it is extremely addicting once you play. I have played many sports and I would say golf and volleyball have been the hardest to learn.

Golf is a sport and it's fun. It's a challenging game that requires skill and practise. It's good excercise. I don't know about anyone else but i get stiff after a full day of golf. If pool is a sport than so is golf.

When I was in my teens, we used to goof around with 9 hole, and had a lot of fun. Although I never actively pursued the sport, it was a good introduction.
I think golf IS a sport. It requires concentration, practise and perseverence to put a small ball into small holes by manipulating it with a club!

Golf is the hardest sport to master. every shot is a new game. there are no "do-overs". players call penalties on themselves and you can find out a lot about a person by playing golf with them.

Absolutely! I seriously feel Golf is the most boring game on earth... & feel sad that soooooo much nice green land is being wasted for it... pity! But the part I find unbelievable is that people actually watch the game... can't get more boring than that!

It's a sport and it's fun to play if you're not serious about it and have a little knowledge about it. What's not fun is watching it on TV. What a bloody bore!

BTW if you take the ball away from football, basketball or baseball, they wouldn't be sports either. ;)
