It depends on what a person is looking for in the phase of the life they are in. Most people in their teens and early twenties look for beauty which is only skin deep. It is later in life that both guys and girls realize that eye-candy is different than caring out a good relationship, and what really matters is the real person not just the physical attributes. Perhaps this is the reason so many girls look for a guy little bit more mature than the usual peer group.

Its just different for different guys...Everyone has standarts...Even women do...Would you go out with an ugly guy with a good personality? No. Looks are basically used for showing off to society how good you got it or how good you can get it. When its for looks...all guys want is sex and the ability to show off or have people jealous of them. When its for the personality, guys still want sex, but with the slight chance of something being there, like for example...love. Dont get me wrong yes there can be love when its for looks also, just be careful with the relationship, because alot of those relationships turn out really bad.

I understand what you're saying but there's nothing wrong with choosing a girl based in part on her looks. People who are unattractive tend to have low self esteem which can be difficult to deal with. And some people don't even try (though you shouldn't try too hard). Also I think people today have no idea want they mean when they say they want love. They have confused love with physical attraction, but I still think looks are somewhat important.

It depends on the guy. some are obsessed with that like you have discovered. It's sad, but out culture stresses sex more than any in history. I hate that.
But there are still guys out there who aren't like that. go to a place where you will meet the kind of guy you want. Don't go to some bar to meet them. If you want a smart book lover, volunteer at the library and fund the guys who did the same. If you want a religious person, check out guys at church. You will find drunks in a bar. You will find scholars teaching at a university. You will find criminals in jail.

When I see a girl that is overweight, I see someone that doesn't take care of themselves. She could be the coolest chick in the world, but I want to be with someone that cares about there health.

ok well your spelling sucks but i know how you feel. i am married now but before i was it was like i never got a guy to look me in the eyes they like the big breast and small but and waist and long blond hair. i thought about gaining wieght just to make them notice me but i could not stand it if i was to get fat so i did not. then i met my husband and he looked me in the eyes when he talked and i fell in love. for more reasons then just the eye looking thing but we are still in love.

honestly, they want both. that's the problem i think with society, we see beauty and then look at who we are with and want more. it's great to find both but many times when a guy only has one, he always seeems to look for and want the other.
