Because unless you gave the ring back your still considered his fiancé and just may-b he needed just a little time to think not split up forever. But by you sleeping with someone else canceled it.

Do you really need other people to answer this question for you? Obviously if you are all ready sleeping around, then you didn't have as much invested into the relationship as he did. He is probably confused on how you could be giving your body to someone else all ready. He is hurt and you kicked him while he was down. You have to stop and think about your actions, and then answer this question yourself.

When he asked you to marry him, he was in love with you. Feelings like that don't dissappear overnight. Sometimes, as is in my case, they never seem to go away. So when he saw you in bed with someone else it hurt because he still has, and probably always will, have feelings for you.

Beyond that, you probably broke up with him not long ago and it's a good thing he didn't marry you because you probably would have cheated on him. Something a promiscuous girl (though I'd rather say something worse) would do.

Because he still has feelings for you. It has been my experience that men always say the wrong things when they are mad just for spite and sometimes it goes too far, even though they do not always mean what they say.
