I don't think there really is a best way to land. If you landed flat on your back, the impact could break your spine and/or damage your spinal cord, if you landed on your front, then the impact could give you severe internal injuries, and if you landed on either one of your sides, you might suffer damage to either your lungs or your heart.
The worst landing of all would be any one in which your head receives a large impact.

I live in a two story apartment on the second floor. If any thing was to happen I have the front and back door, but what if there was a fire in here and preventing me from getting to any of the doors. I would have to use my bedroom window to jump out I would say fall right into the hands of god because only he would be their to catch you

Like you learn to land in falls from martial arts. Use your whole body and absorb a part of the impact with each part; you sort of roll your body to absorb the impact. you can learn to do this. i learned when taking parachuting lessons. i think feet first, then roll to ankles, knees, hips, then up back to neck and head. try to keep rolling and do it again. stunt people know how to do this, too.
