Yes, the Bible says to NOT let any corruptable word to come out of your mouth.
Proverbs 15:26 says that God delights in pure words.
Proverbs 15:28 says
The godly think before speaking
Proverbs 10:32 says
The godly speak words that are helpful, but the wicked speak only what is corrupt.
The whole book of Proverbs and other books like the Epistles talk about what we says with our words and what comes out of our mouth.
Try reading James 3 about controlling the tongue. Make that a confession for you, Oh and one of the Ten Commandments is not to use the Lord God's name in vain. (That use to be a habit with me but I rarely do it anymore), and if I accidently do it, I repent.
Did that help?

NO! For example, the f-word came from the term For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. It was shortened by man to make it easier to say. Then it became slang and has been used as a derogatory term into modern times. So, in my opinion, using the words themselves, which are man made, is not a sin. The actions prompting the use of those words may be another story, altogether.
Using profane language, in my opinion, says that the user has a limited vocabulary and may not be that smart.
Besides, it's just annoying and rude.
BTW, to all those that are quoting the bible to say it is a sin. I believe you are misrepresenting the true meaning of sin. Just because the bible says something is discouraged, doesn't make it a sin. If that were the case, people who eat rare meat are sinning because the bible says that man can eat meat, but shall not let the blood of an animal pass his lips. That would mean Catholic priests and nuns are sinners because that are not fruitful and multiply. People that go to confession are sinners because Jesus taught that we shouldn't confess our sins to man, but to go into our private room and confess to the father through him. Get my point?
But, hey, that's just my opinion. It's all subject to interpretation.

Yes, here is the proof from the Bible, God's Word, The Holy Scriptures,
We quote - "Let a rotten saying not proceed out of your mouth, but whatever saying is good for building up as the need may be, that it may impart what is favorable to the hearers." (Eph. 4:29-30.)
Again: "But now really put them all away from you, wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech, and obscene talk out of your mouth." (Col. 3:8.)

I believe its only a sin in the matter in which its used. If it is used to offend or hurt someone then it can even be a "clean" word and it is a sin.
Why would saying "I stepped in sh*t" be sinful and not "I stepped in dung" both are exactly the same thing right? So I dont believe saying sh*t that way is a sin. However, you can call someone a peice of dung and it be just as much a sin as calling them a piece of sh*t

Taking God's name in vain, yes, just cursing/cussing, No. I don't think it's nice, but I don't think its a sin(some of the words we call"cuss words" are actually used in the bible.)

Anything that is used to hurt or disrespect is a sin. I would say that no one uses cuss words in a nice way and they don't help anyone. Some try to use them nicely, but it's still profane and disrespectful to others.

No, the connotations and definitions of those words were all made up by people. It is not a sin, people mix up sin with not being socially polite.

Yes, to curse is a sin.
God tells us to love others. So it means, we cannot curse anyone.
Do unto others what you wish others to do unto you!! so surely we do not wish others to curse us.
Let's not curse others.
Don not worry. God is gracious to forgive our mistakes. Just ask God to forgive you and decide not to repeat cursing anyone. Jesus dies for every sins. Believe it and ask forgiveness. Peace will rule your heart and mind about the curse matter.
more than the curse thing God likes repentance and God loves you.
