Does anyone have a suggestion, recipe, for log term marination and storage

I actually used to frequent an upper scale restaurant/tavern that has since closed down that had lots of stuff like this. I used to get strawberries that were marinated in manhattans that were excellent if you like manhattans. I also remember them marinating them in things like chocolate liquers, and other ones that were better tastings, Im pretty sure it said something on the menu about how they were left sealed and refrigerated over one night in the liquor and then had to be eaten soon after to avoid the berry spoiling
