My girlfriend likes to work out right in the morning before she eats anything, but I always thought you needed some energy (food) before you work out. Which is better?

It depends on preference... some like to have a little food in their stomachs and some like to work out right away.

Some believe, if you work out on an empty stomach you would lose more weight, but it may cause fainting is you work too hard, since your blood sugar level is likely lower when you wake up.

I suggest having at least a small glass of juice before you start working out first thing in the morning.

If you work out before you eat, then your body is still burning calories while you eat.
