Diet is very important. As stated before, lots of protein. Try to eat 1-1/2 grams per pound of body weight. Also, make sure you eat good carbs and good fat. The carbs will fuel your body, and the fat helps you produce hormones needed for muscle growth.

On top of this, of course, is exercise. Lift heavy weights. You need to overload the muscle to promote growth. Also, get plenty of rest, and drink lots of water.

All in proteins. Muscle burn fat! Protein builds muscle. That's why I don't understand total vegetarians!
