Religion, unfortunately exists and will always do so.Though the presence of a real divine presence is doubtful, ain't it?Nobody has seen ghosts, nobody has seen god, nobody has seen real evil.So there ain't no 6/6/06.Though a lot of people might've 69ed on that day.[;)].

Personally, I'm a Jesus Freak but I really didn't care whether anything was supposed to happen on 6/6/06 or not. Whatever. It's a day just like any other day. I do wonder, though, if anything is going to happen on 07/07/07... ;)
Besides, did anything happen on 06/06/1906 or 1806 or 1706 or 1606 or 1506, 1406, 1306, 1206, 1106, 1006, 906, 806 or any other '06's? No. But of course religion still exists. People are still worshipping God or whatever gods they worship. Religion has always existed. I think you may want to rephrase your question to "Does this prove that God does not exist?" (To this I would have to answer "NO.")
And anyway, the Bible says that Jesus will come like a thief in the night and we won't even know what hit us. Do you honestly think God would do something on such an obvious date like that? Come on! He'll probably do something big like that on a random date like 03/07/59... I dunno.
And one more thing, time is an invention. All it is is a measurement of where we are in relation to the sun. I think it's mankinds stupidest invention (unless one is using time to measure stuff for science experiments) and I hate how we are so enslaved to these human-invented numbers... bleah... and God is not bound by our stupid inventions.

As John Stewart pointed out... the date was actually 6/6/2006... and the "mark of the beast" thing does not prove or disprove anything... it's just an obscure reference. Faith and religion is a lot more complicated than a simple passage in the bible.
Many religious people have claimed the world was going to end many, many times over the eons... but that does not disprove religion any more than the people who claimed nothing was going to happen proves that religion is real.

No, it just shows that some people are gullible and will believe in something as silly as all the stupid predictions. There were women that postponed having their child because they seriously thought their child would be the anti-Christ because it would be born on 6-6-06. People thought the world would end on 1/1/2000 too. People have been believing the Nostradamus predictions for years and none of them have actually come true. It has nothing to do with the religion. The Catholic Church didn't say the world was going to end, people that are gullible believers did.

6/6/06 has really no specific meaning so I have no idea why people claimed somehting would happen. if you look back in time, our calendar year is just a time frame to go by - in fact, I think it might be off - not sure how that all works - but anyway, the point i'm making is that if there were claims made, people had no basis for the claims and yes, religion still exists, but i like to refer to it as faith rather than religion.

I am personally a very religious person, I had no doubt that 6/6/6 was going to be a normal fay. All religious text gives NO specific date as to the end of the world. So why would people narrow it down to 6/6/6 it is only called the devils day because ancient people feared what they did not understand.

Why what signfigance does this number have:
6062006?
The date was not 666 which is the very scary number, which for the record was June 6th in the year 6 and I think we survived that okay, but the intersting thing is that the modern calendar as we know it did not exist then.
At the end of the day who really gives a rats ***.

Because nothing happened... they keep changing the end of our day´s date every year, when 1900 was going to start then again in 2000 now they can´t wait untill to the year 2100 or 3000 so the said that today was our end.

Nobody claimed anything. It was a marketing ploy to sell movie tickets to "The Omen". Plus, the actual 6/6/06 happened 4 years ago, thanks to a goof by the monks who invented the Roman Calendar system.

Well, first of all depending on the religion, the dates are not exactly the same as the to date that you see. so we could be a couple of years off depending on the religion. Natural disaster has been prophesied and has been occurring so the "Armageddon" has already begun!

because religion isnt about people deciding what days are holy or evil. People are dumb, what more proof do you need beyond religous people? just because the people are false doesnt mean the religon is.
