I would love to have twins in my first pregnancy. Is there any way to increase your chances? I'm a little scared of fertility drugs because I don't want 3 or more... Any advice?

I think fertility drugs are the only way, because they'll increase the chances of you releasing more eggs (which you already seem to know). There is a genetic quality which makes a woman more likely to release multiple eggs, or makes the eggs more likely to split (yay identicals!), but that isn't exactly reliable.

With that said, twins are awesome, and I wish you good luck!

I have 14 year old fraternal twins. I read that if you are on the pill for a long time and you go off of it then your body sort of "freaks out" and begins ovulating again. Because of the changes, it may release more than one egg while it adjusts to not being on the pill. That is one of the reasons doctors recommend that you wait a few months after going off the pill to conceive.
I am not sure if it's accurate, but it seemed to work for me. I am 6 weeks along again and am waiting to confirm there is only 1 this time. I don't think I can handle twins again!

Other than fertility drugs (which no doctor will give you unless you have infertility problems) the main factor in twins is heredity. If skips generations on the mother's side.

For example, if your grandmother had twins, you have a chance at having twins.

Well, you can't really INCREASE your chances, but you would have a higher change of getting twins if you have a family member that has had twins. But if not, You have the same chance as anyone else. Hope and Pray, and trust that god may bless you with such a gift.

fertility drugs, and you choose how many you want. Not many people know this, but you get pregnant with sometimes up to seven, and then you 'reduce' your pregnancy to the number you want. I guess they call it 'reduce' because they don't want to admit that they're abortions. Sounds like a pretty bad answer, but hey, you asked a pretty bad question! Some things aren't supposed to be controlled by humans
