In addition to the obvious benefits of academics and eventually a diploma, going to school broadens the perspective, exposes the child to a variety of people and opinions, teaches the child to get along and cope with all kinds of people and situations, develops communication skills and social skills, and teaches skills such as responsibility, problem solving, and punctuality for the world of work. It helps the individual develop tolerance, compassion and understanding by learning about others and their world.

Three reasons going to school is worth while:
1. You will meet people who can open doors for you in the future. I went to school with people who now have powerful government positions.
2. You will expand your mind and see possibilities for your future when previously you did not.
3. Chances are, if you choose the right area of study, one or more university degrees and/or professional designations will substantially increase your income. There are those who make millions without education, but they are the exception to the general rule that the educated make more money

I think that going to school opens up a lot of venues for you.You won't get anywhere without a basic degree. But I personally hated school.I was a very responsible person even as a kid and hated being forced to obey the school rules.eg:Frequent test papers messed with my study schedule. How could I study the daily portions when they hold test papers every week? The test papers were held for an hour between daily lessons.I could either prepare for the test paper or study the daily lessons. But not both.Daily attendence was another pet peeve.I never liked attending regularly. So long as my marks didn't suffer why should daily attendance matter?I will sum it up with Wordsworth's famous lines
'Thank God I was never sent to school
To be flogged into following the style of a fool'

Well I absolutely love my job and my job required a Bachelor's Degree in anything. That made schooling completely worth it for me. It also opened my eyes to many subjects that I didn't even know were out there. I think it enriches you as a person in general. Sticking to something that hard for 4 years really helped my feeling of self-worth too.

well i think going to school verses studying school at home, i would suggest going to school ... mainly because you get a chance to meet more friends and be involved in more activities..also i think it would be better to have someone else teach their children than there mother and father.. i think mothers and fathers should help where they can with the kids and their school projects..i also think parents should help control the friends that they hang around with or go stay all night with..i also think it does a child good to get away from home for awhile.. it would get so boring at home all the time, and i have always wandered with those that i know have done home schooling how much time was spent on school work?? that was in the country and i saw them doing plenty of things besides school work.. i do know they have to take tests once in a while.. but those started to regular school too...i think they would stay out of trouble more if children are kept busy with activities and had less time to run around and get into mischief...idle hands are the starting of the devils workshop...though i also think there is some cases where if the child may do better with home schooling... i know myself as a child i was glad to go to school just thought we had to get up to early.. and we went to bed early...but alot of that is how far the bus has to go around before getting back to school....

Yes...you learn to get a long with different people, how to defend yourself, etc. You learn a lot of things when you're in school that you won't learn if you're homeschooled or other things like that. Also you learn to cope to pressure much better than if your mom is the one giving you a project to do, know what i mean?

yeah. I'm homeschooled. I have to spend every day with my mom for my high school years. I've been doing that since preschool. I love her, but our relationship will be so much better when I move out.
she is controlling and smothering. she doesn't grade our work a lot. I feel I'll have a better advantage, better social life, better knowledge, and a better experience in high school. AND it will help me get into the college I want to go to.

i definitely think going to school is worth it. Just think about it if you didn't do to school would you even be able to be on this computer today and be as literate as you are. basically with an education I think you can get further than you would without an education.

yes, as it will help your social skills, School exams i.e Gcse`s are reconized everywhere, and from what i can remember it was fun, i`m only 22 but wish i was still at school, the saying your school day`s are the best time of ur life is true, working is horrid!!!, school is like an all day social club weather u chose to learn or not. how u learn and what u learn is down to your self, if you chose not to listen then u will not learn and if u do u will

Yes I believe so. You have many more opportunities open to you. There are some people that don't go to school and are very successful at their own business or whatever but they are few and far between. If you are able to do that, more power to you, but I would suggest going to school...it really is important.
