You're having friends and family and would like to invite a few people you're friendly with but this one person behaves very badly in public places. I see no choice but to invite none of them. HELP!

The person is paranoid and picks fights with people. "Are you staring at me? What's your problem?" Things like that. I'm friendly with the person now to keep things peaceful but I once got yelled at for asking how the new microwave worked after I saw them use it!

Invite everyone. The wacko might make it interesting.

Just invite the wacko. Have a couple beers, be nice, and maybe the meathead will calm down and be normal for once. Make sure you invite him/her at the last minute to give them plenty of time to make other plans.

Invite the people you are friendly with outside of work. Don't do it in the office and then it will be apparant that it is a private event, not a work party.
