Only if someone holds it down. LOL
Sleep however you want to, you won't suffocate with a pillow over your head unless someone holds it there, and keeps you from breathing.

DON'T SLEEP WITH A PILLOW OVER YOUR HEAD.
Everyone is talking about suffocating, but missing the most important thing... it's bad for your neck. I've been sleeping with a pillow over my face for probably 20 years. In order to have the pillow over your eyes and ears, but not suffocating your nose and mouth (so you can breathe), the anatomy of the way you end up laying is all wrong. Your neck curves inward because you tuck your chin. This makes you sleep with a curved neck and wrecks the natural backward curvature of the neck bones. I have a bulging disc in my neck becuase of years of bad sleep posture and the pain is AWFUL. I had to get X-Rays, MRI and a cortinsone shot in my neck (I'm 44 years old). I thought I injured it and didn't remember doing it, but nope... it's because my bedroom is too quiet and too much light creeps in through the blinds. So my solution was the pillow over face.
After Percocet, neck pain and numb right arm for a couple months, I'm on the mend and fixing my sleep quality. Blackout curtains and a white noise machine. Bam. I felt like Doctor House when I put something so incredibly unrelated together with such a terrible medical issue. Tens of thousands of hours sleeping, all the while I was gradually wrecking my neck.

No, if you are ever in any danger of suffocating then you'll move the pillow away. Just like it's impossible to commit suicide by holding your breath!
Dangerous for babies, and disabled people who can't move the pillow, but not a normal healthy person!

As an adult or even a child, it's fine to sleep with a number of pillows as your body will not let you suffocate if you face down in your pillows to the point you can breathe your body will naturally move them away so you can breathe freely again, it's the body's natural instinct

It's only dangerous if your husband rolls over and starts to apply pressure on the pillow.

No..but my question is why is your husband snoring?...does he have some type sleep problem, have you heard him stop breathing?..Have your husband see his family doctor to see if he has some type of ENT obstruction or if he has a sleeping disorder, then you may not need to worry about the pillow.

No, you still have to take them off for fresh air when you realize that the pillow become too hot and hard to breathe.
