Believe me, its no picnic. At this point in our lives, we thought we would be "set, established" with the one and only. Life sure fooled me! Anyway, it is hard. I know the advice is cliche but one day at a time. Dont give your heart away without knowing that person very well on all levels and above all, ITS ABOUT YOU. We as women tend to be such givers that we forget about ourselves. If YOU dont like someone, dont second guess the situation, move on. Dont try to make it change, if it's right, you'll now it.

I'm in the 50's age group, lived alone & never dated for 9 years, now I'm with a guy who's 60,well men never change no matter how old they get. Make sure right from the beginning what his likes & dislikes are,see where he will make comprimizes, then do little tests, never change who you are just to please him or make him like or love you. It's the last chance you may get at our ages,if need be move on to the next guy, keep testing the waters til you find one who will treat you like a lady,& make sure you don't comprimize yourself away to suite him, you've probably already did that once, don't fall back into it.

I'm not interested in this stuff because I just got out of a horrible relationship recently. I m using this time to heal, go back to school, spend time with my young son, and get reaquainted with me.
When I do start desiring the dating thing...well... That will be covered with much prayer as I ask God to guide and protect me. I know God has someone out there just for me.
Dating is for teenagers.
Courtship is for emotionally mature adults.

treat it like the mine field that it is, don't get into anything serious until you know the bad points about the person and make sure you are in a position where you don't 'need' anyone to be financially secure. good luck!
