well i feed ferals and i have noticed that the kittens will stay with mom for atleast 3 months and she will continue to feed them until then. once she becomes pregnant again the milk bar is closed to the older kittens. in a domesticated situation it is best if you can allow the kittens to nurse or bottle feed until atleast 8 weeks old as i have noticed this makes for happier kittens and better ajusted cats as they age. i actually bottle fed an hours old newborn kitten until he was 4 months old and he is a love muffin(not that a vet would reccommend feeding that long, but the kitten and i enjoyed the experience) when it comes time to wean you can start at around 4 weeks to suppliment meals with softened kitten cruches and /or wet food. i usually do both and mix wet with pre-moistened crunches. this will give mama kitty or the bottle feeder a break(canned formula is expensive!) once kittens are fully weaned from mama or bottle they will need to be fed 4 times a day and have plenty of clean fresh water down at all times. you can also mix in some formula to the food for the first week or so to make the weaning easier.

The mother will usually wean the kittens at 6 - 8 weeks.

I'm not sure how long they need to drink their mother's milk, but I'm sure any pet store could answer that question over the phone. Kittens do need to stay with their mothers for eight weeks, however, to learn how to function (cleaning themselves, using a litter box, etc).

8-12 weeks. They should be eating solid foods well by this point. 12 weeks is ideal because they can develop better mentally with a good sense of 'catness'.

Please have these kittens spayed or neutered before you let them go into new homes. Many towns offer low or no cost programs. While you're at it, have momma spayed to, to prevent further litters.

The kitten would desire to be waiting to nurse from the mum as long as she we could it. the mum is conscious maximum suitable while to end. The kitten gets substantial antibodies alongside with the mum's milk so it particularly is substantial that nursing proceed as long as obtainable so the kitten could have optimum risk-free practices from illnesses. The kitten would desire to nurse for no less than 8 weeks even whether it particularly is commencing to consume some canned meat. is this a mom cat whom you have introduced in to have her clutter? if so, and you feed her i do no longer think of she won't run away as long as she is conscious the place the kitten is.
