yeah, I already knew a lot of this before I read the article....but it doesn't change the fact that it is going to happen... it is happening. it's kind of scary living here, being 18, I don't know what to do. I mean, it's not like I can get up and leave, or else I would have already. but I think that once I finish my first year of college, I'll probably study overseas and just stay there, although I don't know how I would do that...........
but I can see it happening everyday more and more, and the sad part is that even if the US has an absolutely totalitarian government, people are so brainwashed that they wouldn't even recognize it as that.

Don't these people ever wonder why the government is trying to get everyone and anyone to join their military? It's almost like they're preparing for World War III or something-- and they are.

I guess the most you can do if you have no way of leaving is to tell everyone that you can to open their eyes, and really look at what is going on.

I think it's pretty scary stuff. I noticed that the writer is now living in Europe. It's true that from here in Europe, we see things reported on the news that are ignored by the press over there. An excellent resource is www.democracynow.org (and it's independent media, but it's American). The Patriot Act is pretty scary, too.

Hermann Goehring said, "...the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

I think that's what's happening now in the US.

Theodore Roosevelt on patriotism: "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

Think about it.

I totally believe what I read at this site. The signs have been all around us for years. Pres. Bush, or shall I call him now King George has been found with his hand in the cookie jar on several issues lately and nothing happens to him. He doesn't seem to be held accountable for his illegal actions. We have fewer and fewer civil rights under the guise that its good or safer for us. And we as Americans are so complacent, we are letting our government get away with it. We are being tracked like never before. By our phones, internet, cameras everywhere we go. No camera has ever prevented a crime! To get around unlawful search and siezure, they now call it "probable cause" or alcohol sobriety checks, or now in my state, your vehicle is stopped at road blocks to check your seatbelt usage. Police now have the right to bring drug dogs to your home when asking for simple information. We are becoming more facist every day, and ppl seem blind to it all! And I'm tired of hearing: if I have nothing to hide, I have nothing to worry about. Thats the excuse facist regimes have used since the beginning of time. Once given this power, the police can fabricate evidence to get you. And there's nothing you can do! I wish I had the money to emmigrate, but I don't. So I will have to remain here, being a hamster on its wheel, owned and watched by its government. Praying they don't eventually come for me!

What a load of bollocks.

First of all, the factors involved in pulling various people out of line at the airport for inspections are varied. One of them is whether or not you're on a one-way flight, something that waves a red flag for the TSA. This happened to me on a flight to St. Louis last year. Couldn't imagine it would be anything else, since I was on that flight in order to get to basic training for the US Army--unless, of course, our government really thinks that the next generation of soldiers pose a terrorist threat.

Second, no one in our area is losing equity in vast amounts. We've seen a decrease in sales, but only because it's hurricane season. Snowbirds have memories like goldifsh. Come December, they'll be swarming us again, looking for good deals on hurricane-damaged homes in order to build up quick equity.

This is apparently the rantings of a bitter individual who bought into the bulls**t a few years back and is now trying to convince us today that he was right.

I totally agree with the idea behind it but people shouldn't run around like chickens with no heads over it. I think it already happens and is happening....I was one of those "pulled out of line" people myself but I think That was an army thing, anyway, I love the country, but it doesn't matter what anyone is told because we live in a society that says everything is impossible until it happens....And I can be sure I'm not going nowhere, this is MY home, the writers can all suck a**

Please...what a ridiculous article. Probably written by a non-U.S. bank which would love to volunteer to take in the money of any Americans who might be dumb enough to pay attention to this piece of propaganda.

If your country is going down the toilet do you run away or do you maybe start to look within and see what you can do to affect change?

Right on man, this country is decieved that we r alright. The truth is we r not! Look @ Katrina do u think Satan brought that Storm? If so u need some help. New orleans was 1 of the most sinnful cities in our nation. Y would Satan destroy one of his strong holds in America? I don't think so.

It's a bit extreme, however civil liberties are being eroded every day. But it is not too late to stop that trend. Remove right wing idiots from office. Vote Democratic.

This article is a bunch of crap. If any American wants to move to Europe or anywhere else, then go. We do not need anyone who believes stuff like this.
