I hope you have concert tickets for the 50 cent concert this weekend. You obviously need to broaden his culture exposure. Relax, kids no longer have respect for their mothers. It is nothing to worry about. This morning my six year old said "B****, get me some cornflakes." I reminded him that they were low in sugar and he would not crash mid morning if he ate something so healthy. I would not punish your son. Look for more influences that teach intolerance of women. They are out there.

I'd start off by asking him where he has heard these word and telling him not to repeat them. If he does call anyone a hater again then it would call for punishment. Also, you should make sure he stops watching mtv or if he is getting this language from another child, you should watch them closely. Good Luck!

I have a 4 year old brother who is just getting started with this type of language- but the way my family handles it is by asking first if they know what the words they are saying mean and then second where they may have heard it from, and correct them, tell them that the word is in appropriate and then if he says it again you can punish him knowing full well he understands what he is saying. This may not be the case with your son, he may already know what he is saying and be able to pretend he doesnt...but you can try and discern if he understands or not...if he does I say yes, find a way to make it clear to him that that kind of talk wont be tolerated. Hope that helps.

What is so wrong with calling you a hater. Even a five year old needs to have the right to express himself. What you need to do is try and understand just what he meant. It may be that he is using a word he has heard at home.

NO just talk to him and tell him that some words are grown up words and to much for kids to use, one thing I have learn with my 9 year old and now my 3 year old is they don't just get words and saying off TV but all around them. It's best to explain that he will hear new words every day, best thing is to ask Mom and Dad if it can be used. When my 3 year old started talking he heard a few guys in my neighborhood saying GIT-R-DONE, and I had to explain the say to him.

lol, no he probably picked it up from a t.v. show or heard it from someone. Just calmly tell him you don't want him using that word. Tell him it's not appropriate and if he uses it again, he will be punished. For now though, don't punish him, he's 5! He doesn't know the severity of any word at this point probably, other than the F word.

OMG! LMAO That is hilarious!
You should have just given him some cheddar to pimp his ride. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Your son is funny!
I would advise you to punish him the next time he makes a remark like that but only right after he makes the comment. If you punish him too late then you're only wasting time.
