So I got this girls number a little over a week ago and invited her to go out to a concert (classical, not that it makes a difference), to which she said she'd like to go, and even seemed upbeat about it. The concert is this saturday. I called her yesterday to get her address and also see if she wanted to go for a walk or something that night if she wasn't doing anything. I called at around 1:30 in the afternoon and left a message because she didn't answer. The message was really generic, something like, hey, just wanted to call and see what's up, give me a call back, here's my number....
Well, she never called back. I can see maybe she was busy and just couldn't get back to me, but she had all afternoon and all evening. So here I am, still set to go on a date with this girl, and yet she doesn't even respond to a phone call. First, how am I supposed to take that? And second, what should I do next?

I guess the thing that's awkward is I don't want to go with her to the concert if she's already that uninterested in me. How do I deal with that...just grit our teeth and both get through it? I can't cancel, obviously, and I know she won't, she's not the type.

You really can't tell what happened. It sucks to have to be patient and wait. I wouldn't call her again until tomorrow (Thursday). Heck, if you don't hear from her by Friday, I'd start having a backup plan like bringing a friend along so the ticket doesn't go to waste.

dont do anything. if you call again, except before the date on the night of the date, you will seem desperate. do not call her again!
if you dont hear from her before the "date", then it would be acceptable to call her the day of to confirm. dont say anything about her not getting back to you (if she doesnt). if this is someone you are interested in, believe me, getting to clingy and desperate right off the bat will scare her away before you can blink an eye. if she really wants to see you, she will call. if she doesnt, then move on. do you really want to start a relationship with someone who has no courtesy?

Did you just meet her? Maybe she really didnt want to go and was just saying it so as not to hurt your feelings. Try calling her again till thursday and if doest respond, then hopefully you can find someone else to go with especially if you already have the tickets.

Give her one more call, if no response - lose the number and find another gal for the concert. Move on...
