good for him. he's standing up for himself. everyone always says bush is killing people, but those mindless brainwashed soldiers are the only ones who are actually physically killing. i'm glad one person is actually going to say "i don't care what everyone thinks. i'm not going to kill"

The war isn't illegal, it was approved by Congress (world opinion has no legality here). This refusal of duty has been happeining forever. The Jehovahs Witnesses did it during World War II, but that was a draft situation. There is no draft, so if you volunteer to go into the military, you have no real standing to turn down deployment into a hot zone. All the girls and sissies saying he should stand up for his beliefs, need to realize the only thing is is standing up for is cowardice. Maybe he should move to France.

Good for him. More people should stand for what they believe and not just do what they are told. I hope this shows other soldiers that do not believe in this war a way to stand up and say we have had enough.

He is absolutely correct.
Soldiers are only required to obey "lawful orders" and any order that is not lawful can be ignored.
Of course, he will be punished for upholding his oath and principles due to the fact we have a president & congress that refuse to uphold the law.
