Everyone does nowdays, there pretty cheap, both police and copiers. however officers liek me love this part, the new Motorola EDAC system 3 will only transmit to devices that accept CDCCS codes and the FCC doesnt allow this into police scanners, for now and some time, so if your area is blank on police freq's, they got the new stealth system running. PL/DPL tones are NOT CDCCS EDAC 3 codes. so once the area goes to the new system, your pretty much out of luck. its the next thing now after trunked systems. a frequency transmitting on a frequnecy that transmits on a frequency. a regular device just picks up things such as xxx.xxxx older 2 way radios dont work on the new setup either.

Yes, it came with my acer computer I bought in 1996. I hardly use it though because the process you have to go through to get anything done with it is too time consuming.
