Only if he's got Italian residency or citizenship, he'll have to apply for a seperate working visa I think. Check the British Embassy for Brazils web site.
What's a mu-slime by the way? Is it red neck lingo for 'someone more intelligent'?

What nationality are you? If you are not british and are here as a work permit holder you could apply for him to come over as a dependent of yours. If you are a british national then he will need to apply as a co-habiting partner through the IND or find a employer to sponser him for a work permit either way as you are already here you could help him by applying for jobs on his behalf.

As for a start he can work in a brazilian bar/pub, to earn some money in order to make it for the first couple of months, and if he has any qualification on something he can look for jobs available in the meantime. I wish you both the best!
