I wouldn't push until 2 years but usually if a boy sees a man go in the toilet, he wants to. my son liked to pee on the tree in the woods behind the house and he could not wait to pee on that tree and then he trained himself to go in the toilet when he was inside. you can put confetti in the toilet so they try to pee on the little floating confetti to make it fun so there is no stress involved and if it is fun they will want to do it.

My son was 1 1/2 yrs when we started potty training him. This may sound strange but we let him runaround out side naked in the summer he started noticing that he was peeing and then he realized what that filling was when he had to go it worked very well he was fully trained by age 2. We live in the country with very few people for it to bother and the ones that we had thought that it was cute. you might give it a try!! we also put rocks in the potty chair and let him pee in t he rocks he liked that.

I would try 2 years or 3 to potty train. I had nephews that started at that age where they would make my brothers sit in there with them pretending they are going so he would go also.

I started potty training my son around 24 months...This time of year is perfect for training a boy:) My son was so much easier then my daughter..If there is privacy outside your house, a bush or a tree or heck, tell him it is watering the grass...It worked for my son and my nephews:) I got him completely out of diapers when he had big boy pants on and fell asleep with them on-not one accident since!!!

When they start showing interest. They have to be ready and they have to have control over the bladder. I would say they usually start being interested between 2 and 2 1/2 years old.
