No, not a frequency list of letters, but of _phonemes_: the schwa sound, the /sh/ sound, the /ch/ sound, and all the different vowel sounds, etc. There are between 40 and 45 of these in English. Do we have a linguist in the house?

Thanks so much, all of you. I thought I was going to give the points to Zen, as he sent me a very helpful site, but then Bruhaha comes up the next day with a better one, an absolutely excellent one, and then another great one. Please pardon me, Zen, but Bruhaha outdid himself here for the purpose of my study.
This is why I love to come to Yahoo Answers. Between the information on the internet and the help of the brilliant people who lurk here, there is little I can't track down. Thanks to you ALL.

Here are the results of one such effort (sorry about the spacing -- look at the actual web page chart to see it all more clearly).

The 40 sounds of English (USA accent) with percentage
each phoneme was found in truespel dictionary (note that the "sound" listed for each is according to truespel's own method, rather than the IPA, so some might wish to convert it to the latter).
