Lots of people on Yahoo! Answers were claiming the world would end (or something horribly bad would happen) yesterday, on 6-6-06 because of the "mark of the beast" number. Well, here we are...nothing out of the ordinary happened, we're still here. Anyone who was scared/worried about that day, or who claimed the world would end, like to comment on why it was so silly to believe it was a bad day? Hmm?

I'm sure they will say: "We were spared at the last minute!" and then they'll precdict another date for Armaggedon. They always do.

The same thing they said after the Y2K scare, probably.

BTW, if 06-06-06 were so bad, why didn't anything bad happen on June 6, 6; June 6, 106, ... June 6, 1906?

I do believe in the mark of the beast and the end times, but this conjecture about 06-06-06 being significant is ridiculous.

Here's the thing. It's the "mark of the BEAST", people. Not a date! And it isn't necessarily even 666. It's been found that other scriptures and such actually had the number 616, so 666 might be a typo of sorts, if you will. It's just a number...can a number hurt us? I just think the whole paranoia some people have about 666 worked to the advantage of the media and such, to use it to release the remake of The Omen and things like that, and nothing more. People who were really worried obviously are very gullible.

There is no proof that 6/6/06 wasn't the end of the world. It just turns out that hell is pretty much the same as the world we just came from.

if you want to get technical the number 666 has nothing to do with the date 06-06-06. the numeral 666, if you read the bible, is the number of the the name of the man who will become the antichrist. it is not a doomsday number as so many people wish to believe.

Many horrible things happened yesterday in all the countries around the world.!It's not the end of the world but many Satanist groups made extremely violent sacrifices last night and killed a lot of babies that where born yesterday...many things that happen for our own personal sake....don't become public...!It's not a matter of an OMEN or the end of the world but the imagination of unguided people killed a lot of people yesterday!

I asked people to write something on 06/7/06 and no one has. This leads me to believe that all of those who wrote on 06/05/06 have been Vanish-ed and we are in an alternate universe.

The view is cool from here.

I knew nothing would happen. It's just a day. AND ACTUALLY my day was AWESOME yesterday...I met a girl over the phone at work and we talked forever and got along so well. Someone offered to pay part of my grocery bill cause I was short (the total was 6.41 and I only had 6.00) and he also let me in front of him in line! It was a good day.

God said that his return will be unknown. No one knows when or will be able to guess, especially from some stupid date that people think is "bad".

Just wait for it... there was a young one born at 6am wieghing 6 lbs, 6 oz. So what does that mean?

Probibly nothing. I never bought into the whole end of the world thing. It will end maybe someday, but that is not our decision it is Gods choice.

Yeah, just like the whole Y2K thing was overblown, so was 6/6/06. It's just another date on the calendar. Some people are just too superstitious.

Sorry, but which doomsdayers were these? While it is true a number of people were curious about the day, I myself didn't see as much as one person on YA actually _predict_ anything for the day in question.
