Jim Darwin wrote the avian bird flu is evolving and will make us sick. Does the fact that Jim Darwin is my alias mean that the avian bird flu is not evolving?

Or is your objection that the religious right uses the leviticus word for word of god to inject social policy on the rest of us and what if he didn't have the word for word of God?

I disagree, even if it is the word for word of God this is America and the fact is there should be no theocracy at all, so if God did write leviticus, its still not going to replace my constitution.

I find myself disagreeing with you today and yesterday, but thats ok, we are not sheeple unto one another you and I.

If Moses didn't exist then why does Bill Cosby think he did?

If Moses didn't exist then you and I wouldn't be here.... blub, blub, blub.

If Moses didn't exist then why do scolars who study who wrote the first 5 books of the old testament conclude it must have been a dude named "Moses"?

By the way, the actual writing may have been done by someone other than the author. Today we call it dictation.

Moses the person depitcted in the bible is very likely based on a real person, though it's also very likely that there has been considerable "embellishment" of the legend of Moses and the miralces he was supposed to have performed.

As to the validity of the books he wrote...you have to remember that the myths in the first five books of the bible were passed on by oral tradition for many years before they were supposed to have been first written down. Every play the game "telephone"? It gives you a good idea of the reliability of oral transmission of even simple sentences, let alone thousands of years of history and creation origins. Much of his subject matter was simple myth that attempted to explain the world in hebrew terms to begin with, that even the myths weren't accurately transmitted over the years is a given. They're good stories, nothing more.

The author of the five books is G-d, not Moses. As for whether Moses existed or not choose to believe what you want.

I belive in Moses for the sheer fact that he didnt want to have the roles provided to him. He had a speech defect and was horribly shy. Validity is a weird concept here, he did not write a word in the bible to the best of my knowledge, nor did Christ. The Bible is in sum the recollections of the disciples (new Testament). However, again, there is a theme here of faith and really to its core, validity versus, meaning. The path that Moses took has incredible importance to the Bible and the Christian faith.

If your premise is that Moses did not exist, then I suppose you could be correct in saying that the books are not validly his. But the books do exist...so would the question then be...who wrote them? Or are you saying that the books written are just bunk because the name of the author is wrong?

Me no understand!

If Moses didn't exist, then he didn't write books... thus he is not a validated author. You answered your own question.

But there are people who like to believe it anyway because in the words of Jack Kerouac... "God is pooh bear".

A good question sometimes needs and question to help answer it. Why do so many people not have faith? The Holy Spirit was there with all who spoke and wrote. You can't get anymore validity than that.
