You can bring a maximun of 22 tons in a 40' container. That means your cases come "on the floor" instead of pallets. It should be around 14,000.00 bottles of 750 ml (around 1,150.00 cases x 12 btles, the wooden ones weighting between 35-39 pounds) so you are talking about 10,500.00 litres of wine.
If the 40' container is palletized you can arrange for 20 europallets (smaller than the ones used in USA, and worthless after you receive the wine...) and you can arrange for a maximun of 56 cases per pallet. After the calculations you are talking about 9,000.00 liters.
There is also a difference if your container is "dry" or "reefer". You can put more cases on the dry one.
