So why the need to build churches? Social factor alone?

That is the common thought of those who do not want to congregate with the saints.

We must always be around Christians so that we may worship God together. eventhough God is in our hearts all the time, this means right now God is with me. However it is important that Christians congregate to praise and worship him as one, because Jesus says where there is two or three in my name I am there.

Sometimes on your own at home you may not have the ability to pray due to many distractions, kids, phones, tv, husbands, wives, and the church is a place fo you to seek God's Glory and a place where God may manisfest his power. Not that he wont do it if you are alone, but how many of us really have hour long prayers at home?

Many people reject small Christian churches because they start out in homes or store fronts, and feel that it is not a real church. However, small chruches have the same amount of blessing if not more, because there is more unity, every one knows one another and prays for each others cause.

God is everywhere, especially in people's hearts. Churches are simply built as meeting places for Christians to come together and worship God. The early Christians met in homes or synagogues as you can read about in the book of Acts. People might not call it such today, but if Christians are meeting for a Bible study and prayer time in houses, that is technically a church as well.

Likewise, if people meet in an old broken down stable to talk about God, that then becomes a church. As it is written:

Acts 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
50 Hath not my hand made all these things?

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

God dwells in the human hearts of those who love Him, not human made houses or buildings.

Churches aren't for God, He/She/It doesn't need them. Churches are for people. They are not the house of God but the house of the congregation. Churches are important, because people of like mind need to surround themselves with other people of like mind and churches serve as a base for the activities of the congregation, which they do in honour of their God(s), like charity work and Bible studies and other things. Nowadays with cellphones and the internet, it's not as necessary. You can organize these things on a Yahoo group, for instance, and call each other and say "We're going to worship at Bob's house this weekend." But back in the day when communications were not so easy, you needed a special place where everyone knew they could go to perform these activities and receive the services that churches provide. And the fact that they are still there is very comforting to us humans who value tradition.

free will has turned people against G--

G-- will give so many chances. Churches, if they have good intentions, will lead you back to G--

Some churches do it for personal gain. This is one of the bad factors that take credibility away from the truth.

God is every where! Everything living in this world shouts the Glory of God. Scripture says that God is light. Just think if he IS light than he is w/ us every where and all the time. But there is much more to say. So much that this page cannot contain it.

God is everywhere! However, churches are established to help believers grow, and understand. Scripture states"Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together".
