I would check with your local camera shop. They generally have good used gear thats been tested and serviced. Ebay is a crap shoot because you dont know what your getting or you can buy a new model such as a Nikon F6 if your looking to spend a bit of money, but that camera will give you complete full control.
Check www.bhphoto.com for new camera gear they generally have the best prices. You can also check out www.adorama.com for used gear as well, all is tested and serviced.

I agree - eBay. I got my niece an awesome 35mm film camera (including body, bag, flash attachment, and a couple different lenses) for $150 about 4 years ago because the pro photographer was going digital. Look now because lots of pros are going digital and they are dumping their older film cameras.

BTW, you can buy digital cameras that will adjust shutter speed, flash, focus, and B&W. But you will be paying for a higher-end digital camera. I know that Canon makes an excellent one 5 of my relatives (2 aunts, 2 uncles and my brother) all have the exact same Canon digital camera.

Lots of places -- although 35mm film cameras are starting to get more rare, since Nikon, Minolta, Canon, and a bunch of other companies are not manufacturing them any more...

Try e-bay first off. There are always lots of good ones available. Look for a good, sturdy all-manual model, like the Pentax K-1000 or the Nikon FM. You can also look at KEH (link below), who sells good used cameras and has a good reputation.

That's an interesting question. You'd think with everyone buy digital cameras that you could buy a film SLR cheap somewhere. Try various searches on eBay or similar site.
