[27] Then, We sent after them Our Messengers, and We sent 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them..........

-the most people who can be tender toward the muslim believers are the christians:

[82] .......... and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud.

There's quite a few parts of the Quran that's tender to Christians, and from memory even the Jews also. Many Muslims are wonderful too.

It's just that religious texts, in every religion, are open to interpretation *by humans*. Heck I live in Northern Ireland.

I've read many books on conflict resluton and two of the best things we can do are, first to remember that without words an argument dies down, and secondly we should promote the good parts of our cultures.

Thank you for posting that.
It is true Muhammed himself referred to Christians and even Jews as People of the Book, and commanded that they be tolerated.
Christ had similar views.
It is a shame that people on both sides have perverted those teachings.
