I know I wouldn't want you to be in a train station at night...I'd be worried sick. Even if you were trained in self-defense, there are just too many weirdos out there for you to take chances like that.
I'm a big guy, and I know how to handle sticky situations, but there are still some places that I wouldn't go alone. All the hand-to-hand combat techniques in the world can't stop a bullet. Bus depots, more than train stations, are on my list of places to avoid.
On a side note, I thought gun crime was practically non-existent in Australia...is that true? When I was there in the 80's, I felt perfectly safe going anywhere I pleased...that may have changed since then.

I volunteer at an abandoned one that is being restored. When I'm standing there all by myself maybe at 9 at night...in a 30' by 60' concourse. It can be a little scary.

It depends on the part of town and time of night I suppose.
I mean being a woman alone, doesn't really help either.

No....
Creeps can hang out anywhere...So...Just watch your surroundings...Any public place can have "un-savory" characters around...
Be sure to stand behind the yellow line or the wierdos will be the least of your concerns...

yeah, theres a good amount of 'activity' there... but its not too scary unless your forced to wait on the tracks... that could bring up trouble, as i am lazy
