i think he loves you , he said so cause some tomes you just need time for your self it doesn't mean he doesn't love you he actually maybe can't live without you but, he just needs a time for himself, kind of privacy. try to understand and don't lose someone you love

It could mean that he doesn't love you anymore and wants to break up without hurting you.
It could also mean that he loves you but is focussing more on his career and considering it as his 1st priority. Sometimes love ain't enough, 2 people can love each other truly but can also want 2 different things in life which may lead them to part ways.

yes i think he still loves you but maybe he needs some time to himself to think about the relationship and other things that are going on his life such as his job/family/school or whatever. i know its hard. my boyfriend has said that many times to me but we end up getting back together.

i think he probably means that he will always cherish your relationship and love you as a friend, but he doesn't have 'those feelings' for you anymore......
