I trust people to act in the way that they show me they do. I learned I can't trust anyone to act the way I want them to. But why should I be able to, they're not me and they have different goals, and different reasoning than I do. But I can usually trust them to act in the ways that I have observed them acting in the past. And I take a while to get to know someone before I decide what I think of them.
So I only trust myself in one respect, but I trust everyone in another.

I wouldn't trust "god" -- if he exists (which I seriously doubt), then he's broken billions of promises, never answered anybody's prayers to him, screwed up the world royally (mostly through humans doing really bad things in his name), and has come up with some incredibly stupid and contradictory "rules" for getting to "heaven" after you die. The guy doesn't deserve anybody's trust.
The bottom line is that you can't really trust anybody but yourself. Other people have the same motivation that you do when it comes down to it -- self preservation -- and pretty much everyone will betray a friend/family member if it means saving their own skin. There are, of course, people who act selflessly from time to time, but no one does it consistently.
What really matters is your own expectations of other people...if you trust someone "completely," then you're likely to get disappointed by them at some point. Realize they're human beings who need to look out for themselves first, and that they'll also make mistakes in making choices, and learn to understand human nature. That will give you a better feeling for how much to trust others, and help you understand when they don't do what you think they should based on that trust.

I trust in myself. Does that mean that people we think are not nice or kind really are?I have a pretty good feeling for the people in my life. I feel they are all just trying to do what works for them so if at times I perceive them as not nice I think it is more about me then them. Sounds like you have had some upsets in your perception of others. Try to focus on the positive people in your life.

I trust my husband. But I know he is only human. The only one you can truly trust is Jesus Christ. I have found that each person has different things you can trust about them. Some people you can trust to tell you the truth but not drive your car. Some you would trust with your cat but not your children. etc etc But the one to trust in all areas is JC. Even trusting Him may seem hard because he is the one that knows the big picture that we can't see. Like how we tell out kids to not touch the stove but they can't see why until they touch it.

Yeah. Hey, you ever behave in a manner that wasn't nice or kind? Or find yourself manipulating others (even with kindness or flattery) to get your own way? That's because the truth is we can't even trust ourselves. There is only One in whom I trust, dude.
I love when people say "Trust me". It's an opportunity to just laugh & tell them "Man, I don't even trust ME!"
Increase the peace.

You trust hordes of strangers every time you get on the road. Life forces you to trust people, but that doesn't mean it makes sense to trust them absolutely. I don't even trust myself that much.

You can always trust GOD, he is there for you and you can trust he wants the best for you no matter what!
Human’s aren’t perfect and will make mistakes at one time or another.
Trust GOD first and give every one else a chance, although people aren’t perfect, are we all here to help itch other out… they deserve it and so do you!

We can't even trust ourselves! We say we'll do something like go on a diet, or stop smoking. And never do it. We lie to ourselves all the time. We are meanest to ourselves. We get our hopes up about things just to let ourselves get knocked back down. We put horrible things into our bodies, and know it will kill us in the end.

Myself and God. I can trust myself because I know everything about myself more than anybody else, I know when I lie and when I tell the truth. The absolute trust of mine goes for God, of course, He knows me more than myself.
