I don't think that that's true. The very belief that Christians have that says God can enter into the life of anyone says otherwise. A missionary calling also says otherwise. At any given sunday my church is filled with hundreds of "Jesus Worshippers" who had God step into their lives while others were worshiping Jesus. I don't think you percieved us correctly

I don't know who you have been talking to, but it is not a true follower of Jesus. God sent Jesus into the world to save us all. We were all lost and on our way to hell before Jesus. Read John 3:16 this is what we call the Bible in a Verse

God's only concern is every living soul on this earth. He made us, He loves and He is very concerned about all of us. The real problem is that most people have turned their backs on Him not the other way around.
Always remember God loves YOU!

No--not when God repeatedly tells them He is concerned with them and then sends His Son to die on their behalf to prove it.
*** I'm modifying my answer to clarify that I thought you meant that God's only concern is people, meaning all people. Thanks to other answerers I realize you were saying that Jesus worshippers think God's only concern is only for themselves--His followers.
This isn't so and any follower who understands God correctly understands that God desires all will come to know Him, which is the heart of Christianity and "salvation" from His condemnation.
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men..." --1 Timothy 2:1-6
However, God has also been clear throughout history that those who do not believe and follow Him will suffer judgment, so even though God is concerned about all, only those who follow Him will have His protection from His eventual wrath, as God must punish sinfulness because He cannot dwell with it.
"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." --John 3:18

God cares about more people than just the Christians (and I am a Christian who is proud to admit that).
II Peter 3:9
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

He concerns Himself with a lot. But as Jesus said, unless one is born again they can not see the kingdom of heaven. And unless we repent, we will all likewise perish (Luke 13:1-5).

Yes; Football ... very important!!
But, seriously, I could not tell you why they would think this way; I am Christian, but I don't.
Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world and preach my Gospel to every creature, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost"
Scripture also says, His message is for all men everywhere.
True Saints impart liberally to all - both male and female, bond and free, rich and poor, regardless of race or creed.

Mat.22:37-40
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Jn.15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
1Cor.16:14
Let all your things be done with love.
*Gal.5:13b
By love serve one another.
DOESN'T SOUND SO SELFISH TO ME..... Lets see.. First love God, then love others, then yourself...... Sounds pretty reasonable, no?

Christians don't think that they are the only ones who God cares about. Where did you get that impression?
We believe that God loves all people.

You have it wrong. We Christians believe and teach that God and Christ are concerned and care about everyone, not just those of us who are saved
