I know she's having fun playing chase or letting me rub her belly, but she'll make a little "rrrrrrr" and keep playing. She does't show her teeth or anything. Do I need to stop when she does that? She's about 10 and I've had her 5 years.

it could be her noise for "i'm enjoying this"....
if it's not her normal happy noise, then she may have a sensitive spot that you're hitting.
check her out yourself or take her to the vet for a check up in case she may have a skin irritation or even something more severe.

my dog does a low gutteral growl when he gets his belly rubbed or when we're playing, but i know it's his happy noise.
after 5 years i would assume you know her "happy noises" so if this is different then maybe a trip to the vet is in order!

take care and i hope all is well.

You said she GROWS a little when you play with her. So, yes you should stop or she is going to be enormous.

But, no, seriously...it is totally normal. Wilma is fine. Wikipedia says that: "Growls can be used to threaten, to invite play, and to show dominance. " If you are getting a negative vibe from her growl, I would stop. But if she seems to be having fun, then continue what you're doing

Many dogs will play growl - don't worry about it unless she's growling to boss you around, like when you go near her food.

my dog does that too! i think when they make that noise they are ok because his tail is wagging and he breaths normal and everything. its probably just a little noise to show they like it!

Don't play with her and see if she wags her tail if she does she wants to play.
