Made it once and it went bad. The friend I made it with makes it regularly and to be honest with you it's just not that good.

The idea is great, but in practice it doesn't work.

In fact, I got a beer-making kit for Christmas and haven't opened it.

Sounds like an awful lot of bother up front.
If you are a chronic beer drinker then maybe there'll be a pay-off.
But otherwise, the cost of beer at the package store or bars is still reasonable for your average consumer.

Yeah, but it's really hard. I suggest Mead. It's very easy and it tastes good. All you have to do is mix 3 lbs of honey / gallon of water, throw in some yeast, put it in a jug with an air lock in the cork and siphon every three weeks until it becomes clear. It makes a nice desert wine.

I'm not much of a beer drinker. It could be fun to try, but since my husband doesn't drink very often. I think it would just be easier and cheaper to buy a six pack every couple of weeks.

i know many ppl that have made their own beer, wne and such. It has to be done just right or it could turn out bitter...if your willing more nistakes then go for it...if not then it's easier to just buy it

YES! home made beer ROCKS! I mean it is a lot of work, but once you taste it; you will never go back.

i'm not a beer drinker but i think it's a great idea..both fun and creative..and who knows? maybe it'll taste good too!
