isn't it supposed to be someone bearing the 666 mark?
but you realise that nobody knows what 666 means, it's only mentioned once in the whole bible, and then only as the mark of the beast. it's supposed to be something like the mark of his name, so therefore couln't the 666 be irrelavent and it actually be a name that we're looking for?

The number is symbolic. It belongs to the beast, and that is a representation of the government oppression to come later on.
Yes some of revelation has been uncovered and can be understood. Simply put, those with the identifing mark/ card/? will be able to buy or do business with those they need to. Those refusing it will not and could die.
