two choices- either a steamcleaner or take it ouside with a hose and some soap (let kids do this they will have a ball)

What does it say on the tag? I would imagine having it professionally steam cleaned would be OK for the mattress itself. If there's nothing about it on the tag, call the manufacturer.

As for the cover, that will be either machine washable or you might have to take it to the cleaners. That really should have a tag.

In Indonesia, we hit with a futon hitter... A stick with big flat whirly rattan in the edge of the stick...

i use my Bissell "Little Green Machine" steam cleaner...it's small, portable, convenient, effective and sucks real well so the foam doesn't get too wet and it dries more quickly without smelling musty
