There is sooooo many ways to get extra horsepower for a mustang it is not even funny. Think of it as a blank canvas. The canvas is the mustang and the paint (expensive paint at that) is what is going to give you more horsepower/torque.
If your mustang is in the 87-95 year range then:
N/A - Heads, camshaft, intake, fuel. This probably won't give you much more then 50rwhp, but it will drive so much different that you really won't care if your exact number (50hp) is reached.
Nitrous - This is by far the simplest. Add adequate fuel and you will reach your required number easily.
Forced Induction - As an example I put a vortech -strim in my stock 95 cobra and I was already in the 345rwhp range with the only aid being that I had a autologic chip burned on the dyno for me. That is over 110rwhp over the stock measured rwhp. Now my car (which is still on the stock lower end) is making 525rwhp and 496rwtq with big fuel, tfsheads(ported), tfs 2 cam, dual vortechs inlines with an intank 255. The fuel is still barely enough as I have to get rid of my 42lb injectors and at least go up to 60lb injectors (the biggest that can be controlled by eec).
So you see...you can go as far as you wallet allows. I spent a lot of money on my car, but the funny thing is that I have spent almost twice the amount on its suspension then the power adders. Anyway it is up to you. If it is a quick fix..get the nitrous. It is easy to install and it is only on when you want it. Like I said before it is the cheapest too and with today's kits they are a lot safer then before.

that is what you do you yet a X pipe on it with 2 chamber circulate grasp take off your cats and have the pipes 2 a million/2 inch for a solid sound and circulate that provides you approximately 20 hp after which you will desire to placed a coled air intake on it i could choose a BBnK and that provides you approximately 35 extra hp and then choose an up er and decrease intake gadget with 30 kilos injectors for extra gas to get sprayed to you heads and pistons now that provides you a one hundred + hp and alter you gears contained in the re rend to 373 to get out of the hollow extra constructive

K&N Air intake, Cat back Exhaust, and a Chip. that will give some where close to 50+HP. Also these are the basic steps to performance. Get the Air in fast with out restrition and get the exhaust out just as fast without restrition.

the most basic way to free up latent horsepower in any engine... is to first make it run smoother...
+ mobil one synthetic engine oil...3-4 bhp)
+ k&n cold air intake pipe (16+bhp)
+ e.c.u tuned to "see" the extra air coming into the engine.
+ get a hand held ecu reprogrammer.(cheap, effective, easy 2 use)
+ stainless steel- single pipe- "long tube" borla headers with straight flow x- pipes.( tubes not to exceed 2 3/4 inches in diameter or you will risk loosing low-end torque.) 20bhp+.
+ k&n racing oil filter (6-7 bhp).
+N.G.K "v"- head spark plugs. (gapped to your engine specs). 5-7 bhp+. more powerful spark= much better combustion=more bhp per rpm.
+ racing fuel injectors with wires.(N.G.K) 15- 20 bhp.
+ high flow fuel pump (optional, for racing purposes only)
+also check out turbonator. com (i installed one of these on my cobra nd recorded 15.35 bhp at the dyno.)
+get ur car dynoed... check out the air- fuel ratio( running ur car leaner is gonna free up horsepower up to 25+bhp)
+if ur using large diameter rims, try nd switch to racing spec lighter ones) optional.
+u might also wanna check out a 1.5 way L.s.d(limited slip differential) which increases propulsive force in the direction of acceleration.
+ underdrive pulleys...(frees up engine restrictions by reducing the rotational mass..) 15- 20 bhp.(go 2 ford racing)
These are the most basic of upgrades which will make ur engine more stronger, be more powerful, last longer, while reducing maintenence costs, and also reduce fuel consumption to a great extent.
