Being a x-ray tech I always tell patients what I'm doing and why,that's just common sense and you lower the chance for any misunderstanding that way

Normally X-Ray is taken only after pathological investigation and to confirm or find cause /state of affairs of internal organs.Normally you are informed before X-Ray.In the case of accident and person is not in a conscious state no warning could be given.X-ray is risky due to radiation.Too much exposure to X-Rays many times may cause cancer ,and genetic changes which may even affect your next child to be born.Most of the countries have discontined use of X-Rays and using Ultra sound scan/sonic scan/MRI etc which are less harmful.X-Ray during pregnancy is dangerous to child and normally will not be done. Only advantage of X-Ray is that it is cheap compared to ultra sound scan etc.

I had an x-ray done on me in my abdomen - intestines as well the stomach. They informed me that you are going to put liquid in them and that the x-ray is to determine what was causing the internal bleeding. So yes I was given information before I went for my x-ray.

x rays are awesome. and they tell little kids all about them before they get used so... they like tell you that its not going to hurt (liars) and that it could potentially give you a third arm if they had to keep you under it long enough (true)

No. I was hit by a car and they took xrays of my neck, back, shoulder and hips. All they told me was to take off my bra and not to move.
