First of all, you should be a good human being...adopt love, peace, charity and believer that there is one super power Almighty and yes most important believe that what ever you will be doing in this world, you will get reward some how may be in this world or life here after. now when you start doing this, you are already enter in all the religions as the message of truth, love peace charity is same in all the religions.

1. You can be the same faith as that you were born into.
2. If it doesn't 'speak' to you, and you don't have a 'feel good' factor after you read, or hear something said, in the spiritual scriptures of the faith you were born into, and it doesn't move you to strive to be a better and better person then you may want to move and learn about others.
I personally believe there are many roads up the mountain. No one road is the right road or the wrong road. There is a spiritual side to all of us whether we want to accept it now or not. And the key to religion, in my opinion, is to help you up the mountain, or to discover your spiritual side. Like there are many types of drink, food, genres of books and movies, clothes for every taste, etc. etc. so are there religions. It's a question of being open to the possibility of a new experience, even from the most unexpected source, so I suggest not being judgemental before learning what scratches your own itch, and gives you insight into a new aspect of yourself.
So you could read and check out the monotheistic faiths: See what Judaism, Christianity and/or Islam really offer.
You can check out some of the older spiritual teachings: Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Shintoism,..
Even New Age writings can be interesting. i certainly think it is eye opening, wise and insightful, and a good start.
There are so many writings in the world. You may know someone thinks their faith is the best, and for them maybe it is, but it does not necessarily mean it is best for you.
What I will advise, is avoid anything cultish. That is pure brainwashing and control, and in my opinion has nothing to offer that makes you a better person.

When you think of your religion and where you stand with it. Ask yourself how much you believe. What parts do you and dont you believe. It helps you to decide the church and such you plan to attend. If you believe everything the bible tells you, then maybe be a Catholic or a Pentacostal.....If you are a little sceptical about some of it...maybe Luthern or something other than that. There are many things to consider, but when considering them....think of who YOU are...and how YOU want to me. Not what some church wants of you.
And please, dont go by what you were raised in. Cause many people were raised in a church/religion that isnt right for them at all. My boyfriend is an Atheist and since being with me(who is luthern and stuggles believing in any of that)....he is starting to want to come around and learn of God.
So, when it comes to your religion. It is YOUR choice. About what you believe, how you believe, and when you believe. That will help you determine everything important.

Which ever one has truth. Genuinely question what each says and whether it can lead to God. Religions contradict in their vital essentials and thus can not all be correct or lead to God. Jesus said He is the only way to the Father God, eternal life, and eternal truth (John 14:6). I say this to point out that Christianity claims there is only one way to God and all religions are false. Indeed, Christianity does not claim any religion can save you, but rather Jesus Christ alone. Only a relationship with Him is the answer, and that by repenting/admitting your mistakes and that you don't deserve God's mercy, (Luke 13:1-5) and trusting in His payment on the cross to save you from your sins (John 3:16).

You should choose the one that helps you worship God in your way. If swaying hands and yelling Amen! are embarrassing for you, don't be a Pentacostal.
If you are bored with sitting and singing the old hymms of the 1900's, then listening to a preacher calmly explain an obscure verse of the Bible, then don't be Methodist or Lutheran (especially if you abhor chicken casserole).
If being yelled at is not your idea of worship, don't be a Southern Baptist lol.
See, religion is just about HOW you worship ... choose the one that fits you best!

Sectarianism is one of the most horrific results of men. Take out your Bible and read the New Testament.
While you want to read all of it, to start with I recommend reading one of the four Gospels of your choice - THEN read the Book of Acts. When finished with these you should have a reasonable working knowledge about Jesus, and Salvation as well as the experiences of the New Testament Church period.
Once you accept Christ salvation (See Acts 2:38) read 1st and 2nd Peter for quick guidance to holy and right living as well as learning more about God's principles.
As I said - this is just for starters, and DO by all means read ALL the New Testament or you cheat yourself.
If you have a hard time with 300 year old English, get an NIV (New International Version) Bible. This translation is great because it identifies (the few) scriptures that were added to the King James Bible by Roman Catholics to push certain agendas..., maintaining strict integrity of the Holy Scriptures.
Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans mean nothing. JESUS however should and must take precedence over man designed churches and conflicted teachings.
We have so many sects in Christianity because few want to accept the Word of God as is, and desire to add their own spin on things. When you explore the epistles (letters) of Paul you'll see how sectarianism started way back in his time, because certain ones wanted their own club so to speak.
PRAY and Ask God to open your understanding as you read. Jesus wasn't Baptist, or any other popular sect today - even John was not a Baptist as in a Church membership name, but a baptizer. Jeus preached what his Father (God) instructed him to preach, not after man's principles [Jesus says this in the Gospel of John].

Why should I convince you to be anything that you might be unwilling to be? Research religions on your own and find the one that's right for you, or stick with what you've got, whatever that is. It's not my responsibility to do more than help you with any questions you might have about my religion in particular. Even then, I wouldn't try to convert you. I'd let you decide on your own because who wants to have followers in their religion that had to be talked into believing? Either something is right for you, or it's not.

Did you try to read about any religion?
Do you even have options to choose from?
Read alot, minimize you're options. Talk to people who are TRUSTED to tell you the truth about their religion , then you compare & decide which one you feel is the most truthfull.
The most important thing is to LEARN & READ about religions, not just one or two. I can get you e-mails of people on this issue if you'd like.

Humanity. All religion tell not to tease anyone. Everyone has the right to live. Everything in this universe is the creature of God. No body is good or bad at birth. Karma makes him/her good or bad. You can turn every person to your side with the help of humanity. It can take time to turn. Every religion is good if it is followed with dignity, faith, confidence, love, affection, caring to eachother.
